Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil Review

Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil Review

So I’m approaching my 28th birthday and I’m concerned about my skin more than ever. I’ve mentioned this in my blog before also that I’ve been using potent skin serums and various skin oils since I was about 23 years old. My mom at the time thought it was silly of me because I was “too young” to worry about wrinkles. Fast forward 5 years and my skin looks noticeably healthier.

Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping oil is one of the biggest products I’ve seen around blogs and YouTube lately.  I’ve heard some mixed reviews about this product, but for those that the oil worked for, the results were amazing.  I knew I had to give it a try for myself to see if the oil was too good to be true.

The Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil comes presented within a glass bottle that comes complete with a dropper style dispenser, this allows you to control with ease how much product you use and minimizes mess. It has however been brought to my attention that the glass bottle may comprise the integrity of the ingredients over time – to slow this process down, always store the oil in its protective box and stash such box in a cool, dry place.

The consistency is interesting, it is a little thicker than your traditional facial oil yet not typically greasy, it does however take a little while to sink into the skin and if not fully absorbed you will notice some blue staining on your bedding. As it is navy blue in tone, I find massaging Luna into my face until all blue traces have disappeared to be the best way to avoid ink-splotched pillowcases. As you have guessed due to all the pillow talk and of course the product name, this is an oil best saved for the P.M and as a last step within your skincare routine – it can be used alone or underneath a moisturizer, depending on your skins needs. I must stress that as this contains retinol you must use an adequate facial SPF the following day, and for as long as you use this oil – retinol increases skin sensitivity to the sun and the last thing you want is a damaged and burnt complexion.

I really love, love, love this product and if it is in your budget I feel like it’s a definite must-have. I’d also like to think of it another way – if you break it down by the cost and how it lasted me 90 days – it doesn’t seem as bad. Another point I’d like to make is, besides a cleanser and eye cream, I feel like this product could definitely be a 1 step nightly routine unless you have other skin issues that need attention! So in many ways, this can take care of pretty much all of your nightly skincare – no need to spend money on other products.
