Review: Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow

Review: Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow

I was very naughty and bought this baby against my very trusted friend’s recommendations (she’d clearly told me that even thou she loved it, this product was not to my taste) and boy was she right. Before I get on to why this product didn’t work for me, let me tell you more about the product itself.

As is with the whole range from Charlotte Tilbury, the packaging is beautiful.  Art deco, rose gold – pure beauty, luxury and indulgence. Inside you’ve a grand big mirror so you can see what you’re working with. Filmstar Bronze & Glow contains a matte bronzing powder which you use to sculpt and contour. Then on the other side you get the highlighter which leaves the skin looking radiant. The two powders are encased in a stunning rose gold palette.

Now on to why it didn’t work for me. In my opinion neither the contour nor the highlighter is pigmented enough. I had to go over both repeatedly to get enough color on me. It’s best for people who have a more subtle approach to makeup or with very fair skin tone. In the picture below you can see the subtle bronze around the outer perimeters of my face and the very soft highlight on my nose and cheeks. The effect is beautiful but too soft for my liking.

In all honestly, I can’t really complain because I did buy this product for purely the packaging.
