Becca is easily a makeup brand for ‘dummies’. You can make any Becca product work for you without prior makeup knowledge which is why I never hesitate to buy a new launch from them. This was the case when the new BECCA Cosmetics Multi-Tasking Perfecting Powders* arrived at my doorstep. BECCA says you can use them as a foundation, to highlight and contour, set your face or to touch it up on the go. Are they really a ‘do-it-all’?
I really love the texture of these powders – they are silky smooth, creamy, almost like butter. As soon as I swatched them I knew they would go on the skin so beautifully! The shade range is a good start; but I’m hoping that BECCA will extend it if they’re popular. Although some won’t find their perfect match, I am still impressed by the shades in this line, my ideal match being Beige – it has yellow/olive undertones which is so hard to find.
The Multi-Tasking Perfecting Powder is supposed to provide a natural finish because the mineral pigments are pressed into the powder. I would agree with that, as it doesn’t look powdery on the skin – it melts with your skin and provides a seamless finish whilst still delivering on pigment.
As well as promoting this as an all-in-one foundation and powder, Becca have recommended using different shades of this powder to contour and highlight. I haven’t done that yet but the finish of these would definitely make them a possibility as a contour/highlight.
The Multi-Tasking Perfecting Powders come in seven shades – Fair, Light, Beige, Tan, Warm Honey, Dark Golden and Deep Bronze. Granted, you would need more than one shade to be able to use these for different purposes. This brings me to an important point – these pans are small. For more of a perspective, the skin perfectors hold 0.35oz or 10g of product while these powders only hold 0.2oz or 5.66g of product. I personally think this is quite silly because the life span of a highlighter is far longer than a powder. You only use a little highlighter and you use a lot of powder, especially if you decide that this is your holy grail for setting down your entire face. I have my fingers crossed that they will release these powders in a larger size.
